WEEK OF  MARCH 8, 2010

O R D E R

UNLESS OR UNTIL MODIFIED BY ORDER OF THIS COURT, the following docket will prevail for cases assigned to Judge Betty W. Sanders during the January,  2010, term of the Leflore County Circuit Court (for cases set the week of  March 8, 2010).  If any defense attorney has a conflict, you must notify Court Administrator Linda J. Townsend immediately. Otherwise, you will be expected to appear for trial on the date set.
Petitions to Plea must be filed no later than Friday, March 5, 2010 by 12:00 noon, copies to be mailed to the District Attorney's Office and to the Court Administrator, P. O. Box 244, Greenwood, MS 38935-0244. Pleas will be taken prior to the week of  January 4  by agreement. All Pretrial Motions shall be filed and disposed of not later than  February 22, 2010.   Motion hearings and pleas must be set by Movant with the Court Administrator. 

Jury instructions shall be filed at least twenty-four hours prior to trial. Please include a copy of jury instructions on a 3.5 diskette or CD  in Word Perfect format. Any case set for trial may be reset for a later date in the week in which it is set for trial and will be considered a primary setting for the later date.

DOCKET CALL: 8:30 A.M.

All defense counsel are to be present for docket call unless excused by the Judge.

Each case is expected to be ready for trial. Attorneys, Defendants, and witnesses should remain and be ready for trial until excused by the Circuit Judge.

It is the responsibility of the Defense Attorneys to prepare Transportation Orders, if their Clients are incarcerated somewhere other than in the Leflore County Jail or Greenwood City Jail.
